The Gonads* Campaign is the cheekily named medical research project currently being funded by the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust – Guest Starring Super League’s Andy Raleigh and Keith Senior.

The trust needs to raise a further £200,000 to complete phase 3 of the research and make a vital difference to the lives of teenage cancer patients.

The research is looking into the differences between testicular and ovarian germ cell tumours in patients in different age groups.
The research involves collaborations with laboratories and clinical teams across the UK and, also, collaboration with centres and specialists in the USA and Europe.
It is hoped that this research will, for the first time, explain why these tumours behave differently in different age groups and will demonstrate the optimal way to treat and cure more patients with these cancers which are some of the most common in young people.
(* The gonads in males are the testes and the gonads in females are the ovaries.)

Our very own Jane Moran has been awarded Laura’s Star at the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust’s 15th Anniversary Crystal Ball.

Laura’s Star is awarded to individuals who go above and beyond in aid of the charity set up in Laura Crane’s name. Laura Crane was a very brave young lady, who fought her battle against cancer with dignity and inspired those around her. Those that are presented with Laura’s Star are inspirational in their own way.

When Jane Moran founded Frank & Alex Creative Services, she wanted the company to be built on a foundation of integrity and demonstrate high standards of ethical business behaviour. Part of this vision was to provide pro bono services to a charity, and when Jane contacted the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust last year with an offer to help with their design needs free of charge they welcomed her offer with open arms!

We have since worked closely with the charity in a rebrand project which saw them nominated as a Third Sector Excellence Award Finalist.

Frank & Alex are immensely proud to be associated with the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust and their amazing work funding research into cancers that affect teenagers and young people and the provision of much needed teenage cancer units. We look forward to a long working relationship with them and thank everyone at the charity for recognising our commitment to them with this award.
